Afternoon tour (departing 12 noon or 14:30) – $79 adults / $39 children (14 years and under)

Camel rides in Alice Springs are a great family-friendly activity. This gentle camel ride starts from the camel farm at Pyndan Camel Tracks located 20-minutes by road from Alice Springs.

Once on the back of your camel, your experienced guide will lead you into White Gums Station to enjoy sweeping outback views, get up close to the MacDonnell Ranges and make friends with your gentle camel team. What better vantage point than from the top of a camel to catch sight of kangaroos and other native wildlife?

Feel the magic and serenity as you settle into a peaceful ride aboard our ‘ships of the desert’, the same mode of transport used by Australian outback settlers.

Visit the ‘Camel Lounge’ to learn about these adorable creatures and browse a range of souvenirs. Chat with friendly ‘cameleers’ about the history of camels in Central Australia and camel farm life.

Sunset tour (varies depending on season) – $89 adults / $49 children (14 years and under)

Enjoy a camel ride as the sun sets against the MacDonnell Ranges, a signature Red Centre experience, perfect for all ages. Make friends with your gentle camel during the one-hour tour and learn their history from your expert guide.

Catch sight of native animals and unwind to desert tranquility. Choose the sunset ride to see the colours of the ranges deepen to a glowing red and the sky shift from cobalt blue to orange pink.

What better vantage point than from the top of a camel. Great photo opportunities.

Chat with our friendly camel team about the long history of cameleering in Central Australia, their incredible experiences of catching wild camels in the Simpson Desert, walking solo through the desert with only camels for company, and every day life on an outback camel farm.

Visit our camel themed museum and souvenirs.
